2. Brief

The copy that's 'above the fold' i.e. visible without scrolling is always the most important, with a Nielsen study showing 76% of all time on a website is spent above the fold. If you don't their capture attention at the top, they won't scroll down to read the rest at the bottom. Think of above the fold as your elevator pitch: you have to communicate what you do, what value it brings and why it's better than their current solution.
